This year's Torsåker Bluegrass Festival has come to its end. As part of the board, Kenneth and Jonas even built the stage to get to play :) Downhill left the festival in bitter sweet nostalgia since an entire year lies between us and Torsåker 2012. Still, it was an inspiring festival with some great jams at night time, good performances in the day and as usual, we met a lot of nice an friendly people who liked what we do. Thanks to all of you!

Downhill is back from a few days tour through northern Europe. We were warmly recieved by everybody in Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Grevengrass Bluegrass Festival in Greven and at the Big Bear Festival in Zuidlaren. We travelled a lot but first and foremost we played a lot of music, on and off stage. We also had some great barbecue, breakfast at the hotel in Germany was fab and the weather was good all way through. Great trip! Inspired now. See you soon.

Releaseparty together with Barnyard Fury at Kulturgaraget Avesta . We are so content that the record is finally out, so we had to throw a party. And what a party! What a crowd! A lot of people came to see and hear us throughout the evening and they seemed rather pleased. Nicke couldn't make it but everybody else could, so he was represented by the figure to the right of the stage as seen in the picture below. Next stop Gothenburg!

On New Years Day, Downhill gave a Church Organ/ Bluegrass Blast Concert, along with Maria Helmér, in the church of Avesta (Avesta Kyrka) to make sure the New Year was properly inagurated. Again, the fairly big church was filled to the top and extra chairs had to be handed out in order to offer every visitor a seat.
The concert included church organ on upcoming Downhill-hit "Silver and Gold", Radetsky March in church organ/ bluegrass style, straight and traditional bluegrass, and beautiful "Ashtokan Farewell" from the fiddle, ackompanied by Maria on the grand piano.

The grand finale was underlined with party poppers and fireworks from the organ loft.
Happy New Year, everybody!

We are taking up the delayed CD - project again, we are counting on finishing the recordings by Christmas and have the CD out by spring. All recorded tunes will be original material written by Jonas Kjellgren.

We were invited to play at a pub night at beautiful Sätra Brunn Spa Resort in a landscape that cannot be more Swedish summery than this. Photographers galore, not surprisingly, since the environment and the venue were absolutely astonishing. Good thing for us, too, to get some pictures taken where our faces are fairly tanned.

We would like to thank the people who came out to listen to us, and especially those of you guys who keep coming to our gigs time after time. We apreciate it.

The bands yearly performance at Torsåker Bluegrass Festival took place on a hot July afternoon, where the audience tried too cool themselves down by emptying their water bottles over each other. It was rather spooky then, that when the band kicked off "Give it up and give in", a hail storm flushed over the venue! The audience, some of them dressed only in bathing shorts, didn't have to worry about cooling themselves down after that. The song's somewhat God-fearing lyrics might have had something to do with it...

Downhill performed along with the two choires "Cantores" and "Feel Go(o)d kören" from Avesta congregation on Saturday 8th of May. Avesta Kyrka was filled to the top and everybody, including the performers, seemed to enjoy it enormously.

A reduced version of Downhill performed at Vika Bygdegård for an enthusitac audience. A warm and friendly atmosphere together with the spring like air outside made some of the band members believe in summer again
